| Welcome to the Culver City Democratic Club! Serving Democrats in Culver City The club, established in 1952, is open to all registered Democrats. The monthly meetings, which usually take place on the second Wednesday of the month, vary in their focus. Some meetings are concerned with issues specific to Culver City. Other meetings take up issues of statewide, national or even international interest. We have refreshments available a half hour before every meeting so you have a chance to meet the other members and chat. Our club has various active committees in which you can participate to help support Democratic values and get our Democratic candidates elected. Our November ballot is LOADED with propositions! We'll take a stab at them at our next 2 meetings. On August 11 we'll be grappling with 5 of the Statewide propositions, with guest speakers advocating for or against many of them. In addition we'll voting to endorse -- or not endorse -- the ballot initiatives. July 14 General Meeting -- Meet Mayor Chris Armenta and Councilmember Jeff Cooper HAPPY SUMMER! Our July 14 featured speakers are Culver City Mayor Chris Armenta and our newest Councilmember Jeff Cooper. The will speak about the State of the City, and their respective visions and goals for Culver City. Monday 21 June 2010 ANNUAL 4TH OF JULY PICNIC & BARBECUE Show your Democratic Spirit by joining your friends at our Annual 4th of July Picnic & Barbecue at Lindberg Park. The Club will supply the soft drinks, charcoal and watermelon. Please bring something to grill and something to share. It's always a total kick -- with lively conversation, laughs, games (especially the popular bocce tournament) and lots of food! The event will begin at 11;30 AM, and take place at the Courtyard by Marriott, 6333 Bristol Parkway, Culver City. In addition to our Board Officers' Installation, we will be presenting our "Elected Leader Award" to Congresswoman Diane Watson, and our Trudy Cherness Democrat of the Year Award to our past-president Greg Valtierra. Please join us in celebrating our honorees and congratulating our 2010 - 2011 Board Officers. Lunch with pre-payment is $ 35 per person, including parking ($ 40 at the door).
